Program Overview
The Department of Allied Health Sciences offers various programs, including the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Training.
EMT Training
Upon successful completion of the training, students will be eligible to take the certification exam from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). Successful completion of the exam is required to be certified as an EMT in Connecticut. National Registry Certification is recognized by all 50 states.
Training Specifics
- Must be a current UConn student
- Dates/Times:
- Storrs: Mondays and Wednesdays: 6-10pm and Saturdays: 9am-5pm
- Waterbury: Mondays and Thursdays: 6-10pm and Saturdays: 8am-4pm
- Training Fee: $1,475.00
- The fee includes:
- Trauma shears
- Stethoscope
- Blood pressure cuff
- Pen light
- Clinical Polo Shirt
- AHA BLS CPR certification
- National Registry Practical Examination (one attempt)
- The fee includes:
- Students have the option to receive course credit by enrolling in AH 3099 or AH 4092 EMT for 4 credits after registering.
