Transportation Engineering Degree Requirements
The Transportation Engineering degree is offered with various options, including a research track (thesis option), a professional master's program, and a professional master's program with an internship option.
Degree Requirements
- 42 total credits are required for the degree.
- The research track requires:
- 33 credits of coursework
- 9 credits of CEE 700 – Master's Thesis
- The professional master's program requires:
- 39 credits of coursework
- 3 credits of CEE 600 – Research Report
- The professional master's program with an internship option requires:
- 33 credits of coursework
- 3 credits of CEE 600 – Research Report
- 6 credits of CEE 601 – Internship
General Degree Requirements
Coursework Requirements
- A minimum of 18 credits of 500-level coursework is required.
- A minimum of 18 credits of 400-500 level coursework is required.
- All CET coursework (except seminars) must be taken for a numeric grade.
- A minimum of 3 credits outside CEE is required.
- 499 credits do not count toward a graduate degree.
- 300 and below coursework does not count towards a graduate degree.
- Only 3 credits of CEE 600 can apply to any degree.
- A maximum of 2 credits of ENGR 601 is allowed with faculty advisor approval.
GPA Requirements
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 overall is required.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in CET coursework is required.
- A minimum grade of 2.7 is required for a course to count.
Other Requirements
- The degree must be completed within 6 years (including official On Leave status).
- A maximum of 6 credits of approved transfer credits is allowed.
