Program Overview
Overview of the Master of Health Informatics (MHI) Program
The Master of Health Informatics (MHI) program is designed for emerging early to mid-career candidates from healthcare, business, and technology backgrounds. The program focuses on areas of policy, management and evaluation, and system leadership to best prepare the healthcare sector for downstream AI and health information technology-based change.

- Time Commitment: Consists of four consecutive full-time terms for a total of 16 months
Practicum
The MHI program includes a four-month summer practicum to provide students with practical industry experience while applying program learnings to real-world healthcare problems. Students will participate from May to August in a full-time (600 hour/37.5 hours per week) professional practicum. Students have a large variety of practicums from which to select. Students apply to practicums and are invited for interview by the employer.
