Programs Offered

The Continuing Education and Workforce Development program at Penn State offers various courses and certificates in different fields, including Manufacturing and Logistics, and Technology and Engineering.

2D/3D CAD Certificate

The 2D/3D CAD Certificate program is designed to introduce participants to computer-aided drafting using AutoCAD and SolidWorks. The program consists of two courses: 2D with AutoCAD and 3D with SolidWorks.

2D with AutoCAD

• Course Description: This hands-on computer-aided drafting course covers basic drawing and editing commands, coordinate entry methods, object snap techniques, display manipulation, prototype drawings, and more.
• Course Details:
  • Dates: April 2, 2026 - April 30, 2026
  • Time: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
  • Location: Online Instructor-led training via Zoom
  • Cost: $925
• Note: This course can be part of the 2D/3D Certificate Program or a standalone course.

3D with SolidWorks

• Course Description: This course introduces participants to SolidWorks, covering parametric modeling, solid geometry concepts, feature design tree, geometric relations and construction tools, the BORN construction technique, auxiliary views, and more.

  • Location: Online Instructor-led training via Zoom
