Program Overview
The Accelerated B.S./M.S. in Electrical Engineering (IUG) program is designed for undergraduate students who wish to pursue a master's degree in electrical engineering. This program allows students to earn both a bachelor's and master's degree in a shorter timeframe than traditional programs.
Program Requirements for Admission
To be eligible for the IUG program, students must meet the following requirements:
- Cumulative grade point average of 3.4 or better
- Completion of a minimum of 81 credits
- Admission to the program no later than the end of the second week of the semester preceding the semester of expected conferral of the undergraduate degree
- Completion of specific courses with a collective grade point average of 3.4 or better, including:
- CMPEN 271
- CMPEN 275
- E E 315 (or equivalent)
- E E 341
- CMPEH 472
- All designated MATH, PHYS, and CMPSC courses
Supporting Materials
Applicants must submit the following supporting materials:
- An IUG Degree in Electrical Engineering Application Form
- A transcript
- Three letters of professional recommendation from individuals who can evaluate the applicant's potential
- A personal statement of technical interest and goals
Program Structure
The IUG program is designed to be completed in a shorter timeframe than traditional programs. Students will work with a faculty adviser to determine a sequence of courses that will prepare them for acceptance into the program.
