The Master of Artificial Intelligence program at Penn State Great Valley is designed for individuals with a strong foundation in computer science, engineering, or mathematics. The program aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of artificial intelligence and its applications.
Admission Requirements
For admission to the program, applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or a tertiary degree deemed comparable to a four-year bachelor's degree. The degree must be from an officially recognized degree-granting institution in the country in which it operates.
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or mathematics is preferred.
- A minimum junior/senior GPA of 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) is required.
- GRE scores are not required.

Prerequisites
Applicants must complete the following prerequisites:
Mathematics Requirement
- Calculus I (equivalent to Penn State's MATH 140)
- One semester of probability or statistics
- One semester of linear algebra
Programming Requirements
- Two introductory-level programming courses using the same language
- Alternatively, a recommendation letter from a technical colleague describing coding contributions at work may be accepted
Prep Courses
Low-cost, non-credit online prep modules are available for applicants who have not met the math and programming prerequisites. Program advisors will recommend the most suitable modules based on the applicant's academic experience.
