- Qualifications and Responsibilities of Administrators: As per Pennsylvania Code Chapter 2800.53, interested individuals must already be certified Personal Care Home Administrators with the State of Pennsylvania.
Qualifications and Responsibilities
- Administrator Qualifications:
- A license as an RN from the Department of State and 1 year of direct care or administrative experience in a health care or human services field.
- An associate degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university in a human services field and 1 year of direct care or administrative experience.
- An associate degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university in a field not related to human services and 2 years of direct care or administrative experience.
- A license as an LPN from the Department of State and 1 year of direct care or administrative experience.
- A license as a nursing home administrator from the Department of State and 1 year of direct care or administrative experience.
- Administrator Responsibilities:
- The administrator shall be responsible for the administration and management of the residence.
- The administrator shall have the ability to provide assisted living services or to supervise or direct the work to provide assisted living services.
- The administrator shall have knowledge of this chapter and the ability to comply with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
