Introduction to the Program

The Tsinghua University Clinical Medicine School is launching a Professional Doctorate in Clinical Medicine (Non-Full-Time) program for the 2026 academic year. This program aims to promote the development of "Healthy China" by enhancing disease diagnosis and treatment levels, improving service quality, and accelerating medical science and technology innovation.

Program Overview

The program is designed for outstanding specialist doctors who have completed standardized residency training and possess the level of associate chief physician. Through intensive clinical training in sub-specialties, the program aims to further enhance professional capabilities, enabling participants to provide high-quality clinical diagnosis and treatment services.

Application and Admission

Application Conditions

To apply, candidates must meet the admission requirements outlined in the Tsinghua University 2026 Doctoral Program Admission Brochure and its related implementation rules. Additionally, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

• Hold a master's degree in clinical medicine and have at least 5 years of clinical work experience (as of the date of registration for the new semester in 2026).
• Have completed standardized residency training and obtained a certificate of completion, with the training specialty consistent with the applied professional direction.
• Possess a medical practitioner qualification certificate and a medical practitioner practice certificate, with the practice scope consistent with the applied specialty.
• Pass the National Medical Doctor's Foreign Language Uniform Examination (the latest requirement is to pass before the date of registration for the new semester in 2026).

Application Time and Materials

Applications will be accepted from November 1, 2025, 12:00 to December 31, 2025, 16:00. Applicants must submit the following materials through the Tsinghua University Graduate Application Service System:

• Valid identity proof
• Foreign language proficiency proof (e.g., National Medical Doctor's Foreign Language Uniform Examination score report, certificate, or other English proficiency test scores)
• Academic transcripts for undergraduate and master's studies
• Bachelor's and master's degree certificates, along with academic degree certification reports from the Ministry of Education
• Two recommendation letters from clinical medicine professors or chief physicians
• Tsinghua University Graduate Admission Integrity Commitment Letter
• Application Form for Doctoral Program
• Medical practitioner qualification certificate and medical practitioner practice certificate
• Certificate of completion of standardized residency training (or proof of associate chief physician title for those who started working early)
• Master's thesis
• Personal resume and research plan for the doctoral program
• Recommendation opinion from the employing unit (including political ideology, medical ethics, clinical work ability, teaching, scientific research, and management work situation, actual work experience, and opinions on non-full-time study)

Comprehensive Evaluation and Admission

The program will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of applicants based on their application materials. Candidates who pass the initial review will be invited for a comprehensive examination, which includes a written test and an interview. The comprehensive examination will assess the applicant's clinical practice ability, medical professionalism, research potential, and English proficiency.

Tuition Fees and Study Duration

The tuition fee for the program is 150,000 RMB, payable in two installments over two academic years. The basic study period is 3-4 years, with a maximum study period of 8 years.

Additional Information

• All admitted students will be non-full-time and will not have their archives, household registration, or organizational relationships transferred. They will also not receive a salary.
• The program will implement a "one-vote veto" system for poor academic integrity. Applicants found to have engaged in dishonest behavior, academic misconduct, or provided false information during the application process will be disqualified from admission.
