Tsinghua-JHU Dual Degree Master's Program in Biomedical Engineering
Program Overview
Introduction to the Program
The "Tsinghua-JHU" dual degree program is a collaborative effort between Tsinghua University's School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science and Johns Hopkins University's Department of Biomedical Engineering. This program aims to enhance China's international influence and competitiveness by providing students with a comprehensive education in biomedical engineering.
Program Overview
The program is designed to last two to three years, with the first year spent at Johns Hopkins University focusing on theoretical coursework and the second year at Tsinghua University focusing on research and thesis work. Students who successfully complete the program and meet the requirements of both universities can earn a master's degree from both Tsinghua University and Johns Hopkins University.
Program Structure
- The first year is spent at Johns Hopkins University, where students take courses in biomedical engineering.
- The second year is spent at Tsinghua University, where students conduct research and work on their thesis under the guidance of a supervisor.
Research Areas
The program focuses on several key areas in biomedical engineering, including:
- AI in Medicine
- Biomedical Data Science
- Computational Medicine
- Genomics & Systems Biology
- Imaging & Medical Devices
- Immunoengineering
- Neuroengineering
- Translational Cell & Tissue Engineering
Tuition Fees
- The first year's tuition fee is based on Johns Hopkins University's standard tuition rate (subject to change).
- The second year's tuition fee is based on Tsinghua University's standard tuition rate.
