The Business Academy at Queensborough Community College provides high-quality business expertise to individuals and industries in New York State and the broader United States.


Accounting for Forensic Accounting

The dual/joint degree program in Accounting for Forensic Accounting between Queensborough Community College and John Jay College of Criminal Justice is a jointly registered, dual-admission program. This program offers a curriculum that includes principles of accounting, finance, and law, along with investigation techniques, ethics, and theories of criminology. The educational foundation provided by this program enables students to succeed in the forensic accounting field.


Program Details

  • The program consists of courses that allow students to pursue further education and careers in forensic accounting, accounting, and auditing, as well as financial operations and management fields.
  • The program enables students to enter the upper division baccalaureate program in Fraud Examination and Financial Forensics at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
  • The curriculum emphasizes basic accounting principles and provides a foundation in business organization and management.
  • The program meets the general education requirements for the associate degree at Queensborough Community College and also meets the general education requirements for the baccalaureate degree at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

CUNY Justice Academy

The CUNY Justice Academy (CJA) is a transfer-focused collaboration that links selected associate degree programs at six City University of New York (CUNY) community colleges to baccalaureate degree programs at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.


Becoming a CUNY Justice Academy Student

By majoring in Criminal Justice, Computer Science and Information Security, Forensic Science, or Forensic Accounting at Queensborough Community College, students are automatically part of the CUNY Justice Academy. Upon successful completion of the program requirements, students will receive an Associate's Degree from Queensborough Community College and are also rewarded with the option of guaranteed acceptance to John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

The program requirements include a combination of general education courses, business courses, and forensic accounting courses.

Campus Cultural Centers

The campus has several cultural centers, including the Kupferberg Holocaust Center, QPAC: Performing Arts Center, and the QCC Art Gallery. These centers provide educational and cultural resources for the college community and the surrounding areas.
