Program Overview
The Massage Therapy program at Queensborough Community College provides students with a comprehensive education in the art and science of massage therapy. The program is designed to prepare students for a career in massage therapy, with a focus on providing a strong foundation in the biological sciences and a broad-based general education in the liberal arts.
Program Outcomes
The program outcomes for the Massage Therapy program include:
- Demonstrating a strong foundation in the biological sciences, together with a broad-based general education in the liberal arts
- Demonstrating knowledge of and proficiency in the art and science of massage therapy, within a holistic health framework
- Comprehending theoretical knowledge of and applying Eastern and Western massage therapy techniques
- Working with clients in a variety of settings, under the direct supervision of a licensed faculty member
- Demonstrating understanding of professional issues, including legal and ethical concerns, business practices, and the importance of continuing education throughout the career
- Preparing for application for licensure in New York State
Degree Program Details
The Massage Therapy program offers two degree options:
- A.A.S. in Massage Therapy with Developmental Placement
- A.A.S. in Massage Therapy No Developmental Placement
