MD / MBA Program
The MD / MBA program is a joint degree program offered by the Miami Herbert Business School and the Miller School of Medicine. The program is designed for students who want to pursue a career in medicine and business.
Program Requirements
To be eligible for the MD / MBA program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- A completed online application
- Application fee of $100
- Required essays
- A four-year undergraduate degree, or equivalent, from an accredited institution
- GPA requirements, if applicable
- Official academic transcripts from all academic institutions attended
- Foreign transcripts will require WES evaluation and translation
- No GMAT/GRE is required. Please contact the Miller School of Medicine admissions team for information on MCAT score requirements.
- TOEFL, IELTS, or the Duolingo English Test, if applicable. This applies to most international applicants.

Detailed Requirements
Online Application
The online application is the first step in the application process. Applicants must create an account and submit their application through the application portal.
Essays
Applicants must submit two essays as part of the application process. The essays are designed to assess the applicant's writing skills and ability to think critically.
Transcripts
Applicants must submit official transcripts from all academic institutions attended. Foreign transcripts will require WES evaluation and translation.
MCAT Test Scores
No GMAT/GRE is required. Please contact the Miller School of Medicine admissions team for information on MCAT score requirements.
Language Proficiency Test Scores
Applicants who did not receive a high school diploma or bachelor's degree in the United States or a foreign country where English is not the primary language must submit a TOEFL score, IELTS score, or Duolingo English Test score with the following scores:
- TOEFL - 94 or above (iBT only)
- IELTS - 7.0 or above
- Duolingo English Test - 125 or above
Resume
Applicants must submit a professional resume as part of the application process. The resume should include full-time employment, volunteer work, internships, part-time work, as well as education, other skills, and hobbies.
Interview
Interviews are by invitation only and take place prior to the Admission Committee's final decision. Interviews provide an ideal opportunity for applicants to present a different view of their credentials to the admissions committee.
Letters of Recommendation
Applicants must submit letters of recommendation as part of the application process. The letters should be from individuals who can speak to the applicant's academic and professional abilities.
