Program Overview
Overview
The Certificate in Investments and Trading is designed for students seeking a career change or advancement in their present careers. This certificate begins with core classes and finishes with advanced electives in Investments and Trading. The classes offered are part of the curriculum of the Master of Science in Finance program, allowing students to have the option to take additional classes to obtain a complete M.S. in Finance degree. Each certificate has 8 credits from four courses, and the M.S. in Finance has 35 credits.
Admission Requirements
- Completed application for admission submitted through BusinessCAS
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution
- Official academic transcripts from all previously attended post-secondary institutions must be submitted directly to BusinessCAS
- International applicants must have their educational credentials from institutions outside of the United States verified by an approved international credentialing evaluation service
- Statement of purpose and short-essay responses to the career goal and program-related questions in BusinessCAS
- A current resume outlining professional and/or academic achievements
- At least one letter of recommendation is required, with up to three allowed
- Official GMAT (or GRE) score
- GMAT Institution Code is 7NV-S1-00

- GMAT/GRE waivers can be granted on a case-by-case basis
- An official TOEFL or IELTS score is required as proof of English proficiency for international applicants

Mission
To provide students with an understanding of various investment products: equities, fixed income products, derivatives, and alternative investments. A comprehensive knowledge of these topics prepares students to take a variety of jobs in the investment management industry.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Practical knowledge in investment analysis to generate capital gains and income while minimizing risk
- Students will gain knowledge of how best to allocate capital across asset classes.
