Overview
The Certificate in Security Management is designed to prepare administrators of public and private organizations to meet the various multidimensional security challenges that have faced our planet in the last two decades. The certificate program is grounded in an academic, theoretical understanding of security problems and emergency management strategies. It also emphasizes the development of the practitioner’s arts within the strategic, tactical, and operational realms of security administration.
Admission Requirements
- All applicants must submit the following:
- Application fee
- Curriculum Vitae/Resume
- Three letters of recommendation
- Statement of Purpose/Personal statement
- Official transcripts from every post-secondary school attended
- This graduate degree program also requires submission of certain supplemental materials, including:
- TOEFL/IELTS/Duolingo score, as applicable
- Foreign transcripts submitted in the original language must be accompanied by a certified English translation.
- Copy of diploma or certificate

Mission
The Certificate in Security Management addresses issues related to the management of security for public and private organizations. It concentrates attention on the intellectual and operational challenges associated with the task of protecting people and property within a changing landscape of threat from both human and natural sources.

Students will learn about multidimensional security challenges that different institutions face and how to address them.

Students will be able to demonstrate broad knowledge of the multidimensional security problems that confront modern institutions and the appropriate management strategies to address those challenges.
