Overview
The Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy prepares the experienced singer who has a solid record of performance in operatic, concert, and recitals for a successful career as a teacher of voice. It is the perfect degree for a voice teacher who wants to strengthen teaching, performance, and research skills. By combining the traditional pedagogical traditions with the latest research and innovation, our graduates are excellently prepared to win employment and further their careers as teachers and performers.

Mission
The mission of the Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy is to train the future vocal pedagogues and performers to prepare them for their future as a teacher of singing and performance.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Students will demonstrate vocal skills to a professional level and technical skills.
- Students will demonstrate teaching methods with advanced skills in technique, such as breath technique, language, tension release and repertoire selection.
- Students will demonstrate writing, research, and presentation skills required of the DMA Vocal Performance and Pedagogy terminal degree.
