Program Overview


Master of Public Administration Dual Degree (MPA/MPH)

The Master of Public Administration/ Master in Public Health (MPA/MPH) degree is offered by the University of Miami College of Arts and Sciences and the Miller School of Medicine’s Department of Public Health Sciences. The dual degree is designed for students who seek an in-depth knowledge of public health with training in management and public policy administration. Students may complete the requirements for the MPA and MPH degrees consecutively or in succession.


Admission Requirements

  • Application: Applicants must submit their application online through SOPHAS, the centralized application service of the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH).
  • All application materials, including transcripts, test scores, statement of purpose/personal statement, resume/CV, and letters of recommendations, must be submitted directly through SOPHAS.
  • Applicants to the MPH/MPA dual degree must apply to both, the Department of Public Health Sciences MPH program, and to the College of Arts and Sciences MPA program separately.
  • Dual degree applicants should check with each program regarding admissions requirements.
    • All applicants for the Master of Public Health program must submit the following items on SOPHAS:
      • Application fee
      • Curriculum Vitae/Resume
      • Three letters of recommendation
      • Statement of Purpose/Personal statement
      • Official transcripts from every post-secondary school attended
    • This graduate degree program also requires submission of certain supplemental materials, including:
      • TOEFL/IELTS score, as applicable
      • Foreign evaluation on international transcripts, as applicable
