Program Overview


Introduction to the Hand Surgery Fellowship Program

The University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Hospital Hand Surgery Fellowship Program is designed to provide advanced training in hand and microvascular surgery. The program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and offers two positions per year to board-eligible general surgeons, plastic surgeons, and orthopedic surgeons.

The mission of the program is to provide the highest level of orthopaedic hand and microvascular surgery education, grounded in mentorship, uncompromising patient care, and diverse surgical training. The program aims to advance education and training in hand and microvascular surgery while providing the highest quality medical and surgical care.

Clinical Experience

The program is based on Dr. Peter Stern's lecture series, and fellows participate in academic conferences, Grand Rounds, microvascular lab, and monthly journal club. Fellows are provided with educational resources, including conference and educational stipends and access to the Louis Calder Memorial Library.
