Program Overview
The Clinical Aesthetics Injectables Certificate Program is designed to provide hands-on training in the administration of neurotoxins, dermal fillers, and more. The program includes online and in-person workshop components, with a total of up to 15 accredited contact hours.
Program Director
The program is led by Stephen Ferrara, DNP, FNP-BC, FAAN, FAANP, FNAP, who serves as the Associate Dean of Artificial Intelligence at the School of Nursing and Professor of Nursing at CUMC.

Course Options
- Introduction to Neurotoxins: This course covers injectable treatments such as BOTOX Cosmetic, Dysport, Jeuveau, and Xeomin, which prohibit nerve signals from activating facial muscles, effectively forcing the treated facial muscles to relax and smoothing out the face.
- Introduction to Biostimulators (Sculptra): This course covers injectable treatments that correct wrinkles by helping to replace lost collagen and stimulate gradual restoration of the collagen framework.
- Introduction to HA Dermal Fillers: This course covers hyaluronic acid dermal fillers used for lip enhancement and/or augmentation, marionette lines, nasolabial folds, and midface volumization.
Program Structure
Learners will enroll in either live online didactic instruction or asynchronous virtual didactic instruction. Completion of the didactic instruction is required to enroll in and attend the in-person training. The program takes place in Columbia Nursing’s state-of-the-art simulation center, where learners will receive hands-on training alongside LexRx clinician trainers.
