Chemical and Biological Engineering Program
The Chemical and Biological Engineering program at Northwestern University offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in chemical engineering and biological engineering. The Combined BS/MS Program allows talented and highly motivated students to begin graduate-level work before completing their undergraduate requirements.

- Students do not need to be enrolled in the chemical engineering major to be admitted
- MS programs expect a level of substantive competency equivalent to the completion of certain courses
- Thermodynamics (ChE 211 preferred, or equivalent)
- Fluid mechanics (ChE 321 or equivalent)
- Heat or mass transfer (ChE 322 or 323, or equivalent)
- Kinetics/reaction engineering (ChE 307)

- The application for the Combined BS/MS Program can be submitted in the quarter prior to a student being within four courses of completing their undergraduate degree
