Accelerated Option for Evening & Weekend MBAs

The Accelerated Option is an exclusive feature of Kellogg's Evening & Weekend MBA Program. This option allows students who have completed requisite business courses to dive into advanced electives sooner, reducing the time and cost required to complete the program.

The Accelerated Option offers several benefits, including:


  • Earn your MBA in as quickly as 1.25 years
  • Reduce your tuition cost by up to 25%
  • Fewer credits are required for graduation (15.5 vs. 20.5 at a traditional pace)
  • Dive into advanced electives sooner
  • Choose between the evening schedule and weekend schedule
  • Take up to four classes per quarter

How to Qualify for the Accelerated Option

To qualify for the Accelerated Option, students must have completed requisite coursework at the undergraduate or graduate level in at least two of the following four courses:


  • Statistics
  • Microeconomics
  • Marketing
  • Operations

Students must have received a grade of B or better in each class, and courses must have been taken within ten years of the degree conferral date.


Traditional Pace vs. Accelerated MBA Pace

The following table compares the traditional pace and accelerated pace for the Evening & Weekend MBA Program:


  • Accelerated MBA Pace:
    • At least two of the following four courses: microeconomics, marketing, operations, or statistics
    • 15.5 credits to graduate
    • 1.25-4 years to finish (average time is 2 years)
  • Traditional Pace:
    • None of the above courses required prior to enrollment
    • 20.5 credits to graduate
    • 1.5-5 years to finish (average time is 2.5 years)
