Program Overview

The Master of Arts in Counseling program at Northwestern University is designed for students with counseling experience. The program comprises 24 courses and two clinical experiences: Practicum and Internship. It can be completed on an accelerated full-time, traditional, or part-time basis.


Admission Requirements

  • California regulations require the equivalent of at least two quarters of coursework in order to begin the Practicum season.
  • Therefore, California residents are only eligible for admission to the traditional and part-time tracks.

Program Tracks

  • Accelerated Track: Designed for students who want to complete the program quickly.
  • Traditional Track: Suitable for students who prefer a more traditional pace.
