Program Overview


Master of Educational Technology (MET)

The Master of Educational Technology (MET) program offers a fully online graduate degree that explores the potential use and impact of learning technologies in a variety of contexts. UBC is an internationally-recognized leader in distributed education, and the Faculty members work on the leading edge of curriculum design and technology integration.


Overview

The master's program consists of ten 3-credit courses and provides an in-depth opportunity for students to interact online with colleagues around the globe who are working in technology-supported learning environments. Students in the master's program must complete all four required core courses and six electives.

The MET program offers a unique opportunity to master the theory, strategy, and planning competencies required for greater leadership and responsibility in the design and implementation of emerging learning technologies. This course-based graduate degree is fully online, and students can take the courses in whatever order and pace works best. Minimum Academic Requirements

The Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies establishes the minimum admission requirements common to all applicants, usually a minimum overall average in the B+ range (76% at UBC). The graduate program that you are applying to may have additional requirements.

Applicants from a university outside Canada in which English is not the primary language of instruction must provide results of an English language proficiency examination as part of their application.
