Program Overview
The Rental Property Management Licensing Course is the exclusive accredited pre-licensing course for those who wish to become licensed under the Real Estate Services Act as a rental property manager in British Columbia. This blended learning course allows students to register at any time and is flexible but structured to meet the needs of busy adult learners.

Prerequisites
Age and Good Reputation Requirements
To be eligible for real estate licensing in British Columbia, applicants must be at least 19 years of age and of "good reputation." The Real Estate Services Act requires that every licensee is of good reputation, considering general business and personal reputation, past and current criminal charges, convictions, and previous discipline by a professional body.
Language Requirement
The English Language Proficiency Requirement (ELPR) must be met before registering for the licensing exam. This can be satisfied by achieving a level 7 or higher on each of the four components of the Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program - General (CELPIP-G) test.
Assignments
- Multiple Choice Assignments: Required to be eligible for the final exam
- Submission Limit: A maximum of two assignments per week
- Calculator or Calculator App: Required for the exam, with recommendations for specific models or apps
Examination
- Exam Length: Three hours for the licensing exam, two hours for supplemental exams
- Exam Format: Multiple-choice, with 100 questions for the licensing exam and 60 questions for supplemental exams
- Passing Grade: 70%
- Pass Rate: Varies, but the majority of students pass
