Master of Educational Technology Program

The Master of Educational Technology (MET) is a fully online graduate program that offers two internationally-recognized credentials. It explores the potential uses and impacts of learning technologies in various contexts.

Our graduates follow a broad range of career paths in education and digital learning technologies. The skills and knowledge acquired in our program prepare students for positions employing digital technologies in teaching and learning, leadership roles managing digital learning solutions, or designing and developing new digital media and learning tools.

  • Teaching with technology as informed by contemporary learning theory, with emphasis on presentation, interaction, and assessment.
    • This includes understanding how to effectively integrate technology into teaching practices.
  • Design and development of pedagogically effective learning materials for face-to-face, online, or blended delivery.
    • This involves creating learning materials that are tailored to different delivery methods.
  • Issues affecting successful planning, development, and delivery of eLearning.
    • This includes understanding the challenges and solutions in eLearning environments.
  • Leadership capacities for planning and managing learning technologies and managing organizational change.
    • This involves developing the skills necessary for leading and implementing technological changes in educational settings.
  • Administrative, technological, and cultural implications of learning technologies, with specific attention to strategic planning, organizational models, budgeting, development approaches, and organizational culture.
    • This includes understanding the broader implications of learning technologies on educational institutions.
  • Analysis of learning contexts to identify technology-related design challenges.
    • This involves analyzing how technology can be used to address challenges in different learning contexts.
  • Exploration of research literature on design issues that impact teaching and learning using technology.
    • This includes examining existing research on how technology affects educational design and outcomes.
