Introduction to NITEP

The Indigenous Teacher Education Program (NITEP) in the Faculty of Education is committed to increasing the number of Indigenous educators provincially and nationally. NITEP aims to transform schools, organizations, and communities through Indigenous ways of knowing.

NITEP is dedicated to furthering Indigenous Education and is passionate about educating and supporting Indigenous leaders in education. The program has a strong focus on community involvement and has various field centres, including UBC Vancouver, Cariboo, Bella Coola, Okanagan, and Northern Field (Lake Babine).
