Program Overview
The JOHSC Fundamentals UBC-O program is designed for members of the Joint Health & Safety Committee. Each member must complete 8 hours of training over the first 2 months of their membership. This material is delivered in two parts.
Program Structure
The program consists of two courses:
- UBCO - JOHSC Fundamentals Part 1
- UBCO - JOHSC Fundamentals Part 2
Part 1
This course provides a general outline of the purpose of the Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committees (JOHSC), roles and responsibilities for JOHSC members, an overview of policy and regulation, and an introduction to JOHSC meetings.
Part 2
This course covers inspections and incident investigations as they relate to the role of the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee.
Program Requirements
Both Part 1 and Part 2 of JOHSC training must be completed within 6 months of becoming a JOHSC Member. Upon completion of both parts, training records will be updated to reflect completing JOHSC Fundamentals.
