Program Overview
The University of British Columbia Sauder School of Business offers various programs and courses for students. One of the courses is COMM_V 192 - Management and Organizational Behaviour, which is an introductory core course in organizational behaviour.
Course Description
The primary objective of this course is to teach students about the effects of organizational structures and interpersonal processes on the behaviour of individuals in organizations and the wider implications for the effectiveness and success of organizations. Students will learn to consider the entire organization as an actor and examine how it behaves in different types of environments.
Course Objectives
The main goal of the course is to help students develop interpersonal skills that will allow them to succeed in their future career in business. The course is designed to sharpen students' ability to diagnose and solve a broad range of organizational problems.

- Understanding individuals in the workplace

- Designing and changing organizations

Learning Objectives
During this course, students will be exposed to a variety of topics and will be expected to master a basic understanding of the concepts of organizational behaviour. Additionally, students will be engaged in an ongoing team process to develop new interpersonal skills, such as:
- Awareness of how their values and attitudes affect the dynamics of their team
- Awareness of how feedback, or the lack of it, affects the team process
- Awareness of how motivating others, or failing to motivate others, directly affects team outcomes
- Awareness of how they can more effectively contribute to team processes in the future
