Program Overview

Introduction to the Environment and Society Minor

The Environment and Society Minor is an interdisciplinary program that allows students to explore the consequences of human actions on the environment and how these actions affect us. The program is offered by the Faculty of Arts and includes science content, but primarily focuses on humanities and social sciences approaches.

Program Description

The Minor in Environment and Society enables students to consider the impact of human actions on the environment and the strategies that can be employed to address environmental problems and promote a sustainable society. The program consists of 21 credits, with 15 credits from List A (Environment and Society) and 6 credits from List B (Environmental Sciences). At least 18 of these credits must be taken at the 300-level or above, and a maximum of 3 credits taken at the 100- or 200-level are permitted towards the minor.
