What you will learn
After completing this course, students will be able to:
- Define the role of landscape architects in the design of the built environment
- Describe and define contemporary issues and terms concerning landscape architecture
- Identify some of the key design and evaluation tools of landscape architecture
- Recognize some of the design facets and dimensions needed in the development of a landscape strategy and process

- Expect instructor-led presentations and class discussions
- Prepare to discuss, debate, and formulate your own opinions
- Plan for optional pre-class readings
- Evaluation will be based on a final assignment (pass/fail) due 1 week after the last session

This introductory course is for both professionals and engaged citizens with an interest in learning the basics of landscape architecture.

No textbook is required, as all course materials will be provided online.
Technical Requirements
For online courses, students will need a computer with audio and microphone that is connected to the internet. Canvas is the online system that will be used for the course.
