Program Overview

Introduction to Transportation Engineering

The course explores the basic challenges and principles of transportation engineering and the role of engineers in developing sustainable cities. This introductory course surveys the responsibilities, decision-making, and implementation processes involved in transportation engineering and how it integrates the "hard" and the "soft" sciences. Examining the field's most common tools and applications, students will observe how decisions are made and learn how to work more effectively with engineering colleagues to support the building of better cities and transportation systems.
