Program Requirements
The program requires students to complete a minimum of 30 units of graduate work, divided into:
- a minimum of 15 credits of graduate coursework
- 12 credits of specialized lab work
- 3 credits for co-op (internship) work
Curriculum
The current curriculum covers topics such as:
- Fundamentals and advanced knowledge of information security, risk management, situation analysis, data analytics, applied cryptography, cyber ethics, and cyber forensics
- Understanding protocol-specific attacks and generic attacks, new technologies related to containers, IoT, and 5G
- Machine learning and predictive analytics for cybersecurity risk assessment, intrusion detection and prevention, and critical infrastructure protection
- Applied cryptography, cryptographic and cryptoanalytics techniques
- Cybersecurity of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies
- Information privacy and fundamental privacy concepts
- Cyber risk assessment and mitigation strategies to identify, estimate, and prioritize cyber risks, threats, and vulnerabilities
Admission Requirements
Admission to the program is competitive, and students must satisfy the admission requirements, including:
- Ability to program in Java, Python, and C++
- Knowledge of advanced math - calculus, linear algebra, and advanced statistics
- Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, databases, and operating systems
- Regular admission requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science or a related field with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 3.00/4.33 (B) or the equivalent
Tuition Fees
The tuition fee is based on a per-term model, with students typically completing the program in four semesters.
- Domestic Students: $9,363.60 CAD per term
- International Students: $13,780.00 CAD per term

- International Students: $55,120.00 CAD
Financial Support & Scholarship
Multiple entrance scholarships of up to $15,000 CAD each are offered annually, and students can explore additional financial support available for graduate students, including bursaries and loans.
Mandatory Co-op
Students in the program complete a mandatory co-op placement as part of their degree, which provides hands-on work experience and valuable project management experience.
