Certified Management Accountant (CMA) Program

The Certified Management Accountant (CMA) program at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU) is designed for non-Dutch speaking, international professionals who work in the Netherlands as a management accountant, financial professional, or hold a related function such as controller or CFO.

Overview

• The CMA Certification consists of two parts: Part 1 focuses on Financial Planning, Performance, and Analytics, and Part 2 takes you deeper into Strategic Financial Management.
• After passing the two exams from the US-based Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), you become a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), a global benchmark for management accountants and finance professionals.

Program Details

• Start Date: January (Part 1) and September (Part 2)
• Duration: 15 weeks per part (part-time)
• Time Investment: 8-10 hours per week
• Lectures: Monday evenings (from 18:45-21:15)
• Investment: € 1,750 per part (plus $1,500 in IMA fees)
• Location: In-person at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam

Curriculum

The CMA program at the VU prepares you for the exams according to the new CMA program, focusing on critical competencies fundamental to business, including deep expertise in 12 areas. The program is designed to help you understand how to apply knowledge in your work, providing a global benchmark for management accountants and finance professionals.
