Geneeskunde

The Faculty of Medicine at VU Amsterdam trains doctors who are grounded in society and interested in the person behind the patient. We are looking for students who dare to look further and are willing to adapt to new developments. Therefore, we are seeking doctors who are broadly developed, innovative, and above all, human. At least, that is our intention. Because we are convinced that we need doctors who possess all these qualities.

Overview

The Bachelor's program in Medicine at VU Amsterdam is a three-year, full-time program that focuses on the human body and trains students' skills for making accurate diagnoses. There is a strong emphasis on practical training, where students work independently. From the first day of college, students come into contact with patients and learn what to look for and listen to. There is an exciting academic training program where students gain knowledge of scientific research under the supervision of a researcher. Students also have ample opportunities to gain international experience, both in the first and third years.
