Introduction to the Bachelor Program in Creative Technology

The Bachelor program in Creative Technology at VU Amsterdam offers students the unique opportunity to develop smart technology with social impact. This program is designed for students who want to create innovative solutions to real-world problems.

Program Overview

  • The program is a collaboration between VU Amsterdam and the University of Twente (UT).
  • Students can enroll with all VWO profiles, making it an ideal solution for those who want to pursue a technical study.
  • The program is taught in Amsterdam, allowing students to experience the city's vibrant student life and cultural diversity.
  • Upon successful completion of the program, students receive a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Twente.

Admission Requirements

Dutch VWO Diploma

  • Students with a Dutch VWO diploma are eligible for admission to the Bachelor program in Creative Technology.
  • No specific profile is required, but knowledge of and feeling for mathematics at the level of mathematics B or A is essential.

International Diploma

  • The diploma of students from outside the Netherlands must be comparable to the Dutch VWO diploma.
  • This means having good results at A-level or an International Baccalaureate.
  • All applications are assessed on an individual basis to provide a fair judgment.
  • The only way to determine admissibility is through an official application via Studielink and the submission of all required documents in OSIRIS.

Application and Enrollment

  • To apply, students must register through the online application platform Studielink, indicating the University of Twente as their choice.
  • In a subsequent step, they select the VU location.
  • After registration, students are invited for a mandatory study choice check.
  • Following a positive assessment, students can proceed with their enrollment.

Matching Procedure

  • The matching procedure consists of two parts: an online questionnaire and a non-binding advice on the match with the program.
  • The online questionnaire includes questions about interests, study situation, and expectations.
  • The advice received is not binding, but it is highly recommended to participate in the bachelor's open days and follow-up days to get a better understanding of the program.

Collaboration between VU and UT

  • As a CreaTe-VU student, you benefit from the best of both worlds: the student life and cultural diversity of Amsterdam, and the technical expertise and facilities of the University of Twente.
  • You will spend about 15% to 20% of your time at the University of Twente, which translates to approximately 20-25 nights per year.
  • Accommodation is available on the UT campus in the form of cabins at cost price, specifically intended for VU Creative Technology students.

Diploma

  • Upon completion of the program, students receive a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Twente.
