Mechanical Engineering

The Mechanical Engineering program at VU Amsterdam is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge required to solve current issues using innovative technology. The program focuses on providing students with analytical skills, technical knowledge, and creativity to make an impact on society.

Overview

The program is structured to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including the ability to conduct a comprehensive analysis, compile and calculate a package of requirements, and produce a final product. This enables students to get to the bottom of a technological problem and come up with an inventive solution.

Curriculum

The curriculum is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in mechanical engineering, including courses in mathematics, physics, and engineering sciences. The program also includes practical training and projects to help students develop their skills and apply theoretical knowledge to real-world problems.

Future

After completing the Mechanical Engineering program, students have various options for further education and career development. Most students choose to continue their studies, and there are many options available, including master's programs at technical universities such as the University of Twente, TU Delft, or a master's at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
