Overview

The Certified Public Controllersopleiding (Executive Master of Public Control) is a two-year part-time program that can be completed in two years, but students have the flexibility to determine their own pace. The program consists of four modules, and during the last semester, students write an individual final thesis.

Program Structure

• The program is divided into four semesters over two years.
• Students can choose to follow the entire program or take individual modules.
• The modular structure provides flexibility, allowing students to determine their own study pace.
• Upon completion of the program, students can use the title Certified Public Controller (CPC).

Modules

• Public Control, Governance & Administration: This module focuses on the political and administrative context of the public controller. It is a four-month module that takes place on Tuesday afternoons and evenings, starting in September.
• Public Control & Accounting: This module covers the business economics toolbox of the public controller. It is a four-month module that takes place on Tuesday afternoons and evenings, starting in January.
• Public Control & Organizational Dynamics: This module explores steering and control in a dynamic context. It is a four-month module that takes place on Tuesday afternoons and evenings, starting in September.
• Public Control, Advisory & Leadership: This module focuses on the public controller as a strategic partner of the organization and management. It is a one-year module that takes place on Tuesday afternoons and evenings, starting in January.

Certification

Upon completion of the program, students receive a certificate from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. If students choose to start with one or more individual modules, they still have the option to complete the entire CPC program later. NA
