The Mathematics programme at VU Amsterdam is a challenging and comprehensive programme that provides students with an excellent foundation in mathematics. The programme is fully taught in English and attracts a wide variety of international students from different cultures all over the world.

Programme Structure

The programme offers a wide range of elective courses both within and outside VU Amsterdam, allowing students to tailor their studies to their interests. Students will also attend at least two seminars where they will actively participate in and research the content. A Taster Day is available for prospective students to experience student life first-hand. The Taster Day will provide an introduction to the Mathematics programme with insights from lecturers and students.

Programme Content

During the programme, students will acquire new insights into mathematical phenomena and discover the underlying logic. They will also dive into other branches of mathematics, deviating from those taught at high school. The programme is designed to be more challenging and requires more creativity and an investigative mind.
