Fiscaal Recht

The Fiscaal Recht program is designed for individuals interested in fiscal subjects that are constantly evolving and affect everyone. This program is suitable for those who wish to develop into the fiscalist of tomorrow.

Toelating

To be admitted to the Fiscaal Recht program, applicants must meet specific requirements.

• Nederlandse WO bachelor: Applicants with a Dutch academic bachelor's degree in law or business economics are directly eligible for the master's program in Fiscaal Recht.
  • Juridische bachelors include Rechtsgeleerdheid, Notarieel recht, or Fiscaal Recht.
  • Bedrijfseconomische bachelors include Accountancy, Bedrijfseconomie, Bedrijfskunde, Fiscale economie, and International Business Administration.
• VU premaster: The faculty offers a pre-master SchakelzoneRecht through the Open Universiteit, which makes applicants directly eligible for the master's program.
• Nederlandse HBO bachelor (premaster): Admission is possible for certain HBO bachelor diplomas in combination with a relevant schakelprogramma (premaster).
  • HBO-Rechten plus VU SchakelzoneRecht: The pre-master SchakelzoneRecht is offered through the Open Universiteit, making applicants eligible for the master's program.
  • Bedrijfseconomische hbo plus premaster Accountancy: The premaster must provide admission to a master's program in Accountancy or a related field at a Dutch university.
  • Bedrijfseconomische hbo plus premaster Fiscaal Recht: The premaster must provide admission to a master's program in Fiscaal Recht at a Dutch university.
• Buitenlands diploma: Applicants with an academic bachelor's degree in law or business economics from a foreign university are eligible if their diploma is evaluated as equivalent to a Dutch academic bachelor's degree.
  • Taaleis Nederlands: The master's program in Fiscaal Recht is taught in Dutch, and applicants must demonstrate a sufficient level of Dutch language proficiency.

Aanmelden

Applicants must first check if they meet the admission requirements.

• Aanmelddeadlines: The application deadlines are July 15th for the September intake and January 1st for the February intake.
• Aanmeldprocedure: Applicants must follow the application procedure, which includes registering through Studielink and completing their application through the VU Dashboard.

Yes, it is possible to combine two or three afstudeerrichtingen (graduation tracks) in Fiscaal Recht.

Kan ik een (keuze)vak van een andere afstudeerrichting van Fiscaal Recht toevoegen aan mijn pakket?

Yes, it is possible to add a (keuze)vak (elective course) from another afstudeerrichting to your package.

Het vak Tax & technology II wordt aan de Tilburg University gegeven. Kan ik het vak ook online volgen?

With effect from the academic year, this course will be offered in a hybrid format, allowing students to attend either on location or online.

Voor de afstudeerrichting Indirecte belastingen moet ik meerdere keuzevakken aan verschillende universiteiten volgen. Moet ik die op locatie volgen?

These elective courses can only be taken on location, but it is not necessary to be present for the lectures; however, the exams must be taken on location.

Moet je kennis van technologie hebben om de afstudeerrichting Tax & Technology te kunnen volgen?

No, it is not necessary to have knowledge of technology to follow the Tax & Technology track.

Valt de studie te combineren met een bijbaan of werkstudentschap?

The study can be combined with a part-time job or work studentship, as the lectures for the core courses are scheduled on Monday and Thursday afternoons, allowing for a relatively flexible schedule. Many students also obtain work studentships at nearby offices in the Zuidas area during their studies.
