Course Description
Academic writing is often perceived as stuffy, boring, and formulaic. This course, "Refining your craft: style, voice and originality in academic writing," seeks to challenge this notion by exploring aspects of style, unpacking academic conventions, disciplinary practices, and personal preferences. The goal is to expand participants' repertoire in terms of word choice, sentence structures, and stylistic options, allowing them to develop their own unique style.
Course Setup
- The course utilizes participants' own texts as the basis for various writing exercises.
- It consists of three group sessions and an individual tutorial, providing ample opportunities for peer and teacher feedback.
- Assessment is based on two rewritten texts, with feedback provided through the ALP feedback system.

- Participant Limit: Minimum of 3 and maximum of 5 participants.
