The Doctoral Program in Sociology at the University of Barcelona aims to provide high-quality training for sociological research, focusing on the analysis of society, its structures, culture, and relationships, as well as its change and transformation. Objectives and Competencies

Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the Doctoral Program in Sociology, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent, and a master's degree or equivalent, with a minimum of 300 ECTS credits in the combined programs.
- Provide a certificate of English language proficiency, with a minimum level of comprehension of academic texts.
- Provide a certificate of linguistic proficiency in Catalan or Spanish, oral and written, at the highest level, for applicants for whom at least one of the languages is not their first language. The final admission decision is made by the Academic Committee, which evaluates applications based on established criteria, including:
- Academic record (40%).
- Curriculum (25%).
- Letter of motivation explaining the reasons for applying to the program, research interests, and objectives (15%).
- Sample of previous research work (15%).
- Two letters of reference from professors or researchers (5%).
