Program Overview
Program Overview
The Programa de formació inicial en docència universitària is a comprehensive training program designed for university professors, particularly those in their early years of teaching or with limited experience in university teaching. The program aims to enhance the quality of teaching and learning at the university level.
Program Objectives
The primary objective of the program is to provide professors with the necessary skills, knowledge, and support to excel in their teaching roles. The program is part of the interuniversity Margalida Comas program, promoted by the Generalitat de Catalunya, which seeks to establish a common framework for improving teaching and learning at Catalan universities.
Program Structure
The program consists of three phases, with the first two phases being mandatory for professors. The third phase is optional.
- Phase 1: Introduction to university teaching
- Phase 2: Development of teaching skills
- Phase 3: Advanced teaching practices (optional)
Target Audience
The program is designed for non-permanent contracted personnel, preferably lecturers, who are in their early years of teaching or have limited experience in university teaching.
Recognition of Initial Training
To receive recognition for initial training, participants must submit an application with supporting documentation. The recognition process is outlined in the program's guidelines.
Organization of the Program
The program is organized by the Institut de Desenvolupament Professional (IDP) of the Universitat de Barcelona, in collaboration with the Vicerectorat de Política Docent. The program is designed to be progressive, with each phase building on the previous one, and includes a high component of face-to-face interaction to facilitate the construction of a teaching identity and the creation of collaboration networks among professors.
