The Master's program in Counseling and Intervention in Grief, Loss, and Trauma is designed to provide professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to support individuals and families experiencing grief, loss, and trauma. The program is offered online and consists of 38 weeks of study, with a total of 60 ECTS credits.

Program Objectives

The program aims to:

• Form professionals to attend to the psychosocial needs of individuals and families experiencing grief, loss, and trauma.
• Provide participants with the skills to assess and intervene in situations of grief, loss, and trauma.
• Equip participants with the knowledge and skills to work with individuals, families, and groups in a variety of settings.

Program Structure

The program is divided into 11 modules, each focusing on a specific aspect of grief, loss, and trauma. The modules include:

• Techniques for basic and advanced intervention in grief
• The relational dimension in grief: activation of bonds and elaboration of memories
• The circumstances of death and the traumatic dimension of grief
• The avoidance-negation dimension in the grief process
• Intervention in specific situations (e.g., death of a child, death of a partner)
• Working with children and adolescents in grief
• Grief and stabilization phase
• Diagnosis and treatment planning
• Family and environmental impact
• Group intervention in grief
• Final project
