Program Overview

Program Overview

The Master of Continuing Education in International BIM Management prepares participants to lead the paradigm shift that BIM will bring to the construction sector over the next 10 years. The program addresses the management of the latest technologies applied to building, from the planning and design phase to construction, considering its subsequent connection to building maintenance. Additionally, professionals will learn to implement the BIM methodology in organizations and manage all processes, teams, and workflows involved.

Key Features

  • The program is designed to satisfy the needs of professionals from over twenty sectors of the AECO industry.
  • Its academic structure offers participants the methodology, tools, and competencies necessary to empower future leaders in BIM implementation.
  • The program prepares different profiles to help realize the paradigm shift: BIM Managers, implementers, and consultants.

Academic Accreditation

The Master of Continuing Education in International BIM Management is accredited by the Institute of Continuing Education of the University of Barcelona. It is a proprietary course designed according to the guidelines of the European Higher Education Area and equivalent to 60 ECTS credits.

Program Structure

  1. BIM Management: Information management, OpenBIM, and collaboration practice.
  2. BIM for Project: Modeling management with Autodesk Revit, Graphisoft Archicad, and interoperability between analysis tools.
  3. BIM for Construction: Pre-construction, construction, and delivery with BIM software, and site coordination and management.
  4. BIM for Asset Management: Information exchange in asset management.
  5. BIM Implementation: Implementing BIM.
  6. Final Master's Project: Applying learned concepts to a real-world project.

Target Audience

  • Professionals in architecture, civil engineering, and industrial engineering.
  • Professionals implementing new applications in sustainable cities (from telecommunications and information technology engineering).
  • Members of the public administration working in urban planning, management, and economy departments, and other professionals and future entrepreneurs.

Professional Outcomes

Each day, the number of companies investing resources in BIM implementation increases, and there are few professionals capable of meeting this demand on an international scale. These professionals are highly sought after and valued. The BIM Manager is responsible for the implementation and management of collaborative teams under this work methodology, whether in an architecture office, construction company, engineering firm, promoter, material manufacturing company, or public administration.

Faculty

The program is directed by Rogerio Lima, an architect, and features a diverse faculty of professionals from various fields, including architecture, civil engineering, and information technology.
