Program Overview

Program Overview

The Master's in Global BIM Management is designed to prepare participants to lead the paradigm shift that BIM will bring to the construction sector over the next decade. The program addresses the management of the latest technologies applied to building, from the planning and design phase to construction, taking into account its subsequent connection to building maintenance.

Objectives

  • Provide the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary for the management and development of projects in the multidisciplinary and collaborative BIM environment; as well as the integration of information systems in the development of such projects.
  • Encourage teamwork: Given the current complexity of the projects, the first goal will be to promote teamwork as the only way to achieve complex objectives.
  • Understand the concept of interoperability: In relation to the above and given the large number of elements (actors, tools, etc.) that can intervene in the development of a project, it is necessary to fully understand the concept of interoperability that will guide our actions.
  • Manage information: Be able to manage all the information necessary for the development of the project, so that its integrity (in other words, the information is not corrupted) and availability is guaranteed by all interested parties.
  • Know and handle the main BIM tools: Promote know-how not only of its use but also a critical knowledge that allows in each moment to decide which are the most suitable tools for a certain project.

Three Reasons to Choose This Program

  1. BIM Manager Profile: This new profile of architect is destined to configure the present and future of the construction sector. To access a large number of opportunities in a sector as competitive as AEC and optimize project resources, it is necessary to stay professionally updated.
  2. Complete Life Cycle Based on OpenBIM: Open BIM, as a universal approach for collaborative design, realization, and operation of buildings based on open standards and workflows, becomes the most sustainable path from the point of view of managing building asset information throughout the building's life cycle.
  3. Global Collaboration and Real Cloud Workflows: Due to the great variety of countries involved in the program and the different cultural contexts, the Master provides a perfect framework for developing real global collaboration, in which cloud-digital workflows become the main communication tool and will pave the way for the success of projects.

Program Structure

  • BIM Management: Information Management, Open BIM, and collaboration practice.
  • BIM for Design: Coordination, Authoring in design with BIM software, Analysis tools interoperability.
