Introduction to Mechanical Engineering

The Mechanical Engineering program at Carnegie Mellon University is designed for innovators and idea-makers. High School Course Requirements

To be eligible for the Mechanical Engineering program, applicants must have completed the following high school courses:

• 4 years of English
• 4 years of mathematics (including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, analytic geometry, elementary functions, and preferably calculus)
• 1 year of chemistry
• 1 year of physics
• 1 year of biology
• 2 years of foreign language
• 3 electives
