Program Overview
Integrated BS/MS Program
The Integrated BS/MS program is designed for current CMU undergraduate students considering graduate studies in Engineering and Public Policy. This program allows students to earn both the B.S. in their technical undergraduate major and the M.S. in Engineering and Public Policy.
Program Requirements
To complete the Integrated BS/MS program, students must:
- Satisfy all requirements for the B.S. degree
- Register for a minimum of one semester of full-time study as a graduate student
- Complete all of the requirements for the MS degree
This full course of study will typically require ten semesters, although advanced placement or other study may reduce the time required. With the approval of their academic advisor, students may take courses while an undergraduate that could count toward their Master's degree as long as these courses are beyond the minimum number of units required for their Bachelor's degree.
Application Process
Students can apply to the Integrated BS/MS program between the 5th and 7th semester of their undergraduate program. The application process involves indicating interest and providing a resume to the Integrated B.S./M.S. advisor. Transfer students' application timeframe will be adjusted on a case-by-case basis.
