Integrated Design Engineering (IDE)

The Integrated Design Engineering (IDE) program offers students the flexibility to create an engineering pathway tailored to their interests and career goals. This innovative program is designed to provide a comprehensive education in engineering, with a focus on hands-on, project-based learning.

Program Structure

Each Integrated Design Engineering degree consists of:

• 1 of 6 Engineering Emphases
• 1 of 20+ existing Concentrations in an additional area of interest (or the option to create a custom concentration)
• IDE courses: small, hands-on engineering courses that foster collaboration and creativity
• Foundational Coursework: foundational courses that provide a solid base for higher education, regardless of the student's specialty

Program Components

The IDE program includes a range of components, such as:

• Advising: personalized guidance to help students navigate the program and achieve their goals
• Current Student FAQs: a resource for students to find answers to common questions and concerns
• Emphases: six distinct engineering emphases that allow students to specialize in a particular area
• Concentrations: over 20 existing concentrations that enable students to explore additional areas of interest
• IDE Courses: a selection of small, hands-on engineering courses that emphasize collaboration and creativity
• Foundational Courses: a set of foundational courses that provide a solid base for higher education
• FE Exam: preparation for the Fundamentals of Engineering exam
• Resources: a range of resources to support student success
• Accreditation: information on the program's accreditation status
• IDE Bachelor's–Accelerated Master's (BAM) Programs: an option for students to pursue a combined bachelor's and master's degree
