The Artificial Intelligence (Kunstmatige Intelligentie) program is a bachelor's degree offered by the University of Amsterdam. The program focuses on the development of artificial intelligence and its applications.
Admission Requirements

- A VWO diploma with a profile that includes mathematics A or B (Natuur en techniek, Natuur en gezondheid, Economie en maatschappij, or Cultuur en maatschappij)
- No prior knowledge of computers or programming experience is required
- For applicants with a VWO diploma old style, HBO diploma, or HBO propedeuse, mathematics A or B at the VWO level is required
- For applicants with a foreign diploma, the diploma must be equivalent to the VWO level, and the applicant must have passed mathematics A or B, English, and Dutch at the VWO level
Application Process
The application process involves the following steps:
- Check deadlines: The application period is from October 1 to May 1
- Check admission requirements: Ensure that the applicant meets the admission requirements
- Check study costs and tuition fees: The tuition fees vary depending on the applicant's nationality, the program, and whether they are studying full-time or part-time
- Register via Studielink: The official registration process is done through Studielink, using the Dutch name "Kunstmatige Intelligentie"
- Activate UvAnet ID: After registration, the applicant will receive an email with their UvAnet ID, which must be activated
- Participate in UvA Matching: UvA Matching is a mandatory part of the application process, which includes an online matching assignment and an education day at the Science Park
Program Details

Additional Information
For applicants who do not meet the admission requirements, there are alternative options available, such as obtaining a certificate for a specific subject or applying for an exemption from part of the admission requirements. The program also offers a colloquium doctum for applicants who are 21 years or older and do not have a VWO diploma, HBO propedeuse, or HBO bachelor's degree.
