Program Overview
The Amsterdam Business School offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance program. This program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of finance and its applications in the business world.
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for the MBA in Finance program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Academic credentials: A degree (Bachelor, Master, PhD) from a recognized research university.
- Relevant work experience: A minimum of 3 years post-graduate full-time work experience. Internships in a financial field may also be included.
- Analytical test: Applicants can choose to take a GMAT/GRE test or an in-house test.
- GMAT/GRE: The suggested minimum GMAT score is 630, for GMAT Focus 585. GRE scores will be converted to GMAT.
- Analytical in-house test: Scoring on Numerical Reasoning, Abstract Reasoning, and Verbal Reasoning.
- English proficiency: A minimum TOEFL of 100 or IELTS score of 7.0 is required. Exemptions may apply for native English speakers, those with international English-spoken professional experience, or those who have completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree taught in English.
Pre-Master’s Programme
If an applicant has obtained their degree at a University of Applied Sciences (HBO) in the Netherlands, they will need to successfully complete the pre-Master's programme to qualify for entry into the MBA in Finance program.
- Duration: 4 months (16 weeks)
- Lectures: Fridays from 9:00-17:00
- Location: Amsterdam Business School

- Application deadline: 2 months before the chosen starting date

Application Process
To apply for the MBA in Finance program, follow these steps:
- Check your eligibility by uploading your CV.
- Submit your online application, including:
- Passport copy
- 1-page CV
- Motivation statement
- Copies of transcripts and related diplomas from your highest completed degree
- Analytical test results (if applicable)
- English proficiency test results (if applicable)
- 2 professional references
- Take the LTP Assessment or GMAT (if applicable).
- Participate in an admissions interview.
- Receive a final decision from the admissions board.
Tuition Fees
- MBA: €52,000 (12 or 24 months)
- Pre-Master’s: max. €4,400 (max. 6 months)
- Early Bird discount: Apply before 1 December 2025 to receive a €6,000 discount, or before 1 March 2026 to receive a €3,000 discount.
- UvA alumni discount: €4,000 discount on tuition fee for University of Amsterdam alumni.
Payments
- Enrolment fee: A non-refundable enrolment fee of €5,200 is required to secure your place.
- What is included in the costs: The fee covers the whole program, including courses and exams, registration, use of university facilities, and a part of the international study trip.
- Payment: Tuition fees can be paid in 3 equal instalments spread across the duration of the program.

- Lifelong learning credit (Levenlanglerenkrediet): DUO offers a loan for tuition fees for local and foreign professionals living and working in the Netherlands.
