Program Description

Many organizations and companies benefit from effectively influencing the behavior of citizens or consumers. There is an increasing demand for evidence-based approaches when developing effective interventions in human behavior. An evidence-based approach entails applying scientific knowledge and a scientifically responsible method to develop more effective interventions. Knowledge about determinants of behavior, such as emotions, motivation, and attitudes, can, when coupled with a systematic approach to analyzing and intervening in human behavior, significantly increase the effectiveness of interventions.


In this Master's track, students learn to apply social-psychological knowledge and scientifically responsible methods to analyze and empirically investigate the social-psychological determinants of behavior; to develop evidence-based interventions in human behavior, with an emphasis on behavior with societal implications; and to develop strategies for evaluating those interventions.
